Met Gala 2017: Hailey Baldwin Wears Carolina Herrera on the Red Carpet

If we had to guess, we would say that Hailey Baldwin was probably pretty excited when iconic designer Carolina Herrera wanted to dress her for the 2017 Met Gala. Not because it’s the first time she’s been dressed for this event by a designer of that caliber—just last year she was dressed by Tommy Hilfiger—but because Carolina Herrera is known for making some of the most stunning gowns in the event’s past. Who could forget Lily Aldridge’s stunning powder blue gown in 2015? We certainly couldn’t.

Hailey’s gorgeous pale peach outfit—a crop top and a three-tiered tulle skirt—fit right into the theme of this year’s event with its imposing silhouette. The skirt made creative use of ombré, with a medium peach tone on top, a lighter pastel in the middle, and a deeper hue on the bottom, while the strapless bandeau-style top made interesting use of structural elements, with visible boning on the sides. A metallic beaded veil and a silver chain choker gave an edge to the sweet look. Though Hailey, like many of the gala guests, did not stick strictly to the theme, her outfit paid homage to Rei Kawakubo’s legacy in a very her way.

Recently, Hailey experienced some red carpet drama regarding a pregnancy rumor and her maybe-boyfriend Cameron Dallas. Monday night’s look is sure to get the same amount of buzz, but this time without the sheer absurdity (not to mention the problematic speculation). Regardless, we’re sure Hailey will handle any attention how she always does: with adorable and witty grace.
