The Alchemy of Herbs: A Beginner’s Guide: Healing Herbs to Know, Grow, and Use

Books

Select herbs can grow exceptionally well indoors or outdoors, in containers or the ground. It all boils down to what you want to do. If the space receives less than five hours of sunlight in a day, you might be better off going indoors for easier accessibility, especially for watering and cooking. This also helps prevent weeds, pests, or fluctuating temperatures.

Seeds are quite cheap but take longer and require more resources to grow, while on the other hand, seedlings are faster to grow but are only available in spring and summer.

Several gardening tools are essential – a spade, gloves, pots, containers, and other tools you may need. And remember, some fertilized soil is important, too. This can be naturally generated or a general-purpose compost solution from a gardening store. For container gardening, a packaged potting soil mix can go a long way, as you will have little to no worry about pests.
